Splunk migration to Azure for BankID

Sens is proud of our successful project in collaboration with BankID BankAxept, where we migrated their Splunk Enterprise platform from an on-premise data center to Microsoft Azure!

BankID BankAxept wanted—in line with their cloud strategy—to move the Splunk platform, including all stored data, to Azure, and the new infrastructure would use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

The Splunk service is used continuously throughout the organization; from code debugging, operational monitoring of BankID's services, to generating business insights. This meant that long downtime could not occur. In a situation where security and availability are crucial, our team ensured a seamless transition to the new platform. Key elements of the project included:

🔒 Security and compliance; where we leveraged Azure’s capabilities to protect data and infrastructure. With thorough planning and reviews with the security and legal teams, we strengthened the system against potential threats and ensured compliance with industry standards and regulations.

🛠️ For technologies, we used Terraform and Ansible for the creation and configuration of the infrastructure. Azure Data Factory was used to migrate from S3 object storage to Azure Blob storage. Github was used for code versioning and automated deployment of changes.

💰 In addition to improved performance for the Splunk platform, the project also provided significant cost reductions for BankID BankAxept. By utilizing scalability and cost-optimization in Azure, resources can now be used more efficiently than before.

At Sens Consulting, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that empower our clients to succeed in today's digital landscape. Our collaboration with BankID BankAxept stands as proof of our expertise in cloud migration, Infrastructure as Code, and infrastructure optimization.
